What is Film Noir?
It is an impossible thing to define film noir, it was a category discovered and created by critiques, the French to be exact, and there is so many film noirs that all of them do not fit into a single definition. Critiques have disagreed on even if it is a genre, style, a movement or any number of other category types. For this reason the best definition might just be that "you'll know it when you see it".
